Dr. Strand Publishes Article on Written Dialect in Norway

Thea Strand鈥檚 most recent article is titled 鈥淭radition as Innovation: Dialect Revalorization and Maximal Orthographic Distinction in Rural Norwegian Writing.鈥� It addresses how widespread use of non-standard dialect spellings in digital communication and marketing contexts challenges the normal sociolinguistic order and refunctionalizes the rural Valdres dialect.
