The department of chemistry and biochemistry recognizes outstanding students in their majors at the end of each academic year. Exceptional students are nominated by the chemistry faculty for the following awards. Awards are presented in April or May each year.

Fr. Morrissey Medals鈥擜warded to the 鈥渙utstanding student鈥� in each year鈥檚 group of chemistry majors enrolled in the majors classes.

Analytical Chemistry Award鈥擣or outstanding achievement in scholarship. The analytical award consists of an 8-month subscription to the journal Analytical Chemistry. Awarded to the top student in Chemistry 212.

CRC Press Freshman achievement award鈥擨n recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement in chemistry during the freshman year. Awarded to a student enrolled in the majors class. The award consists of the 84th Edition of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.

Fuch Scholarship $1500鈥擜warded to a freshman student with outstanding scholarship enrolled in the majors class. This scholarship has a strong needs component.

Cassaretto Scholarship $5000鈥擜warded to a sophomore chemistry major, enrolled in the majors class, with established academic merit. This scholarship has a strong needs component.
