Announcing the winner of the 2021 Stanley Clayes Memorial Essay Competition
The Committee on Graduate Programs in English is pleased to announce the outcome of the 2021 Stanley Clayes Memorial Essay Competition:
Abby Palmisano has been awarded first place for her essay, 鈥淭ransmitting Auras: Imagining a New Teaching Edition of Medieval Literature,鈥� written for ENGL 413: Textual Criticism with Dr. Marta Werner.
Brian Maloney was awarded honerable mention for his essay, 鈥淭he Death of the Stage Irishman and the Birth of the Irish 'Rogue-Hero': The Irish Plays of Dion Boucicault, 1859-1874," written for ENGL 490: Topics in American Lit with Dr. Jack Kerkering.
A presentation of the selected essays and reception will be held Wednesday, November 10, at 3:30 in the Sister Jean Multipurpose Room of the Damen Student Center. RSVP is required.
