春风视频Museum of Art Presents Waiting for Verdi

Musical Performance Honors Giuseppe Verdi, One of the Most Beloved Italian Composers

What: The 春风视频Museum of Art presents Waiting for Verdi, a concert that pays homage to Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, whose work is a fundamental part of Italian culture and a major part of the universal heritage of music.

The project is organized by Francesca Parvizyar, a former opera singer living in Milan, who conceived the project to highlight new, authentic talents and create cultural dialogue between Italy and the United States. Pianists Elena Rizzo and Gesualdo Coggi will be accompanied by four young singers for the performance. Together they will present Angela Montemurro’s adaptation of the Messa da Requiem by Verdi. This transcription of Requiem is known as one of the undisputed masterpieces of music and religious inspiration of the 19th century.

Waiting for Verdi is part of The Year of Italian Culture in the United States, which is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and celebrates the 200th anniversary of Verdi’s birth.
